How to choose shelf management system
Reason no. 4 - system tray™
Packing in trays is a popular concept for many products. Restocking the shelves can be carried out more quickly, and the building up of product groups is made easier. However, the visual appearance and the sales promotion impact of these displays is not conducive to optimum sales.

Disadvantages of conventional product display using shelf trays:
- In many cases the trays are untidily displayed on the shelves.
- Packs are often not in line with the shelf edge.
- The impulse purchase opportunity is lost because:
- The products disappear in recesses and cannot be seen clearly.
- Products fall over and can no longer be identified.
- Remaining products on the upper shelves cannot be seen or are not easily accessible.
The result is a lack of appeal to the consumer. Put simply, poor shelf edge displays are the quickest way to reduce effective impulse purchases!

System Tray™ offers suppliers ideal transit packing whilst retailers gain a working sales system. System Tray™ is:
- Compatibility of trays is achieved using a cut out at the rear and bottom of the tray.
- Trays easily fit over the product pusher on the shelf.
- Easy access is provided to the front item by being raised by a built-in "ramp".

Results Achieved Using the System Tray™:
- Fast and easy assembly
- The tray is firmly held in place.
- Products are automatically pushed to the front of the tray
- Products are always visible and accessible to the customer
- Transit costs and shelf restocking times are reduced whilst creating high impact and visual presentation.

Product pushers are technical devices that maintain product position at the front of the shelf regardless of the number of packs on display. Pushers incorporate a spring that continuously pushes products forward, after one has been removed. A special feature of our pusher is the progressively acting spring, reducing friction and generating a flexible and powerful action. Easy access of products is achieved by raising the front product for easy picking.

Both light and heavy products can be used with the pusher system due to the range of spring forces between 2 and 14 newtons. The key benefits are:
- A force that is applied smoothly adapting to the number of product on display.
- The spring action is ideally suited to sensitive and bagged products.
- The spring force is greatest when the shelf is fully merchandised, but gradually reduces to a lower pressure as the product levels reduce.
- Restocking of products is very easy due to the softer pressure being exerted by the pusher when it is empty.
What is the life span of the pusher?
The moving spring is produced from stainless steel and its service life is equal to that of a recuperating spring. A power loss of a maximum 5 % is all that is to be expected after 20,000 operations. (!)
There are 4 main reasons for using pusher systems:
Reason No.1
Uniform product image
- Products are clearly visible to the customer.
- Opportunity for impulse buying is increased.
- Clear and uniform displays convey a feeling of competence, tidiness and quality
The high quality of the presentation enhances the image of the product with the consumer.
Reason No.2
Restocking shelves are much easier with the pusher system:
- Quicker shelf restocking and allowing first-in first-out principle to be maintained.
- Changes to shelf stocking can be easily implemented by sliding existing product positions one way or the other to make room for new lines.
- Store staff time can be greatly reduced due to less need to constantly tidy shelves.
- Restocking shelves is more efficiently and reliable!
Reason No.3
The product pusher enables the display of large ranges whilst keeping the number of products in stock to a minimum.
Merchandising without product pushers means:
- Restocking goods is time-consuming.
- Often the gaps between products are filled rather than pushing unsold products forward to the front.
Merchandising with product pushers result in:
- Stock reduction.
- Eye catching sales promotion opportunities.
- Reduction of tied up cash in unsold product
- Reduced risk of unsold perishable goods.
