Pusher System FAQ

I don’t like pushers because they snap the next product up too hard and fast!

The Index pushers have a unique feature that reduces the power applied to the product proportionally as the number of products reduces. This means that when a pack is removed, the remaining packs are smoothly and gently moved forward providing the consumer with a more pleasant shopping experience.

How can pushers help to manage shelf stocks?

Pushers enable fast restocking and reduce the need for staff to continually manage the shelves to keep products pushed forward. The odd pack left can be simply placed in the front of the new packs. The time and money saved by reduced staff time can be quickly offset against the initial investment. Pushers operate on the ‘first in, first out’ principle. Pushers promote a clean efficient image to consumers improving their shopping experience. ‘Out of stock’ markers can be integrated into the pusher unit providing a visual warning to store staff that the products are about to run out. This allows the store staff to refill in their time and not under the pressure of an empty location.

I already have a pusher system. Can I add more options using the Index system?

Yes, the Index Pusher System works with most other systems on the market so you do not have to throw away other installations already in use.

Can I make up an independent pusher display that can be shipped to stores?

Yes, Index can design a stand alone unit to house a range of products to sit on the shelves. This enables you to place your product onto a stores shelf without any installation or any changes being made to the store fittings.

Index is working with a specialist European manufacturer of pusher products to bring a quality system to the UK market. There are many systems to choose from but a key factor that you should take in to account when making your merchandising decision is the life expectancy of the system you purchase. The range of pushers offered by Index is designed to stand up to the rigours of in-store life. This means that by the time you dispose of a pusher unit purchased from Index, you will have saved £1,000’s on your initial investment compared with lower cost options that look good but will need replacing much sooner.

Why should I invest in a pusher system?

Investing in a pusher system helps to increase your sales and increase your profitability. Remember - consumers buy what the see, they don’t buy what they can’t see! The four main reasons for choosing pushers are the benefits of shelf optimisation, improved shelf restocking, reduction in levels of stock held on the shelves, and the ability to integrate with shelf ready cartons.

What type of pusher should I be considering?

The objective is to control the product so that it is dispensed smoothly and under control. The product weight, shape and bulk will affect the pusher strength needed. Once you have identified these three pieces of information, Index can start work on recommending the correct pusher size and strength. Pushers range from 2 Newton up to 14 Newton’s in push power.

What is the life expectancy from the Index range of pushers?

Each pusher is designed and tested for up to 20,000 operations after which a 5% decrease in strength can be expected.
